Apple Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef or chuck steak, cubed
    1 Tbsp. oil
    3 c. apple juice
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. caraway seed
    1 bay leaf
    8 small boiling onions
    8 small carrots
    2 Golden Delicious apples, cored and diced
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation
    Brown beef in oil.
    Stir in apple juice and seasonings.
    Cover and simmer 45 minutes or until tender.
    Stir in onions and carrots.
    Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
    Add apples during the last 5 minutes.
    Blend flour and water together; stir into pan juices. Cook and stir until thickened.
    Garnish with parsley.
    Serves 4.
