Ingredients

1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
1 c. flour
1/3 c. melted butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 Tbsp. cream or milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix brown sugar, chopped nuts and flour together in a large bowl.
Stir in melted butter and mix with two forks until lightly crumbly like pie crust.
Remove 1 cup of mixture to be used later as topping.
Place remainder in 8-inch square pan and press firmly.
Bake for about 12 to 15 minutes.
Beat cream cheese until smooth with 1/4 cup sugar.
Beat in lemon juice, egg, milk and vanilla.
Pour this onto the baked crust.
Top with reserved crumbs.
Return to oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool thoroughly, then cut in 2-inch squares.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
