Chicken In White Wine Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. unsalted butter
1 roasting chicken (about 3 lb.), cut up
6 shallots (3 of them chopped)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. dry white wine
Preparation
Melt butter in large, deep skillet and saute the chicken pieces.
When they are nicely browned, remove and reserve them. Add the 3 chopped shallots and the 3 whole shallots to the pan. When they have begun to brown, return the chicken and any cooking juices to the pan.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Reduce the heat and cook for about 45 minutes.
Turn the pieces from time to time, until they are uniformly cooked through.
As soon as the liquid begins to dry up, add the wine.
Discard the whole shallots before serving.
    Serves 4.
