Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
1 c. bran flakes
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
In a large bowl, cream butter, sugar and brown sugar.
Add egg and vanilla; beat until fluffy.
Stir in flour, baking soda and nutmeg.
Mix well.
Stir in nuts and bran flakes until blended.
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet 2 inches part.
Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes 4 dozen.
