Slovakian Crispies (Chrusciky) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1/8 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 lb. butter
    3 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. sweet milk
Preparation
    Sift flour, sugar, salt into a bowl.
    Cut in the shortening (as for pie crust).
    Add the eggs, milk.
    Mix and knead until smooth.
    Turn out upon floured board.
    Roll very thin.
    Cut into strips (5 x 1 in.) with a slit in the center lengthwise.
    Pull an end through slit and up as a twist.
    Heat fat in a deep kettle. Fry to a golden brown, 1 minute, watching carefully.
    Remove on absorbent paper.
    Dust with confectioners' sugar.
