Round Steak Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak, thinly sliced
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 large onions, sliced
    1 c. water
    4 potatoes
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 c. sour cream
    3/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    3/4 c. crushed cornflakes
Preparation
    Brown meat in shortening; add onions and saute until tender. Add water and simmer, covered, for 50 minutes.
    Layer meat in a 9 x 13-inch casserole.
    Layer thinly sliced potatoes over.
    Mix together the soup, sour cream, milk, salt and pepper.
    Bake at 350\u00b0, covered, for 1 hour.
    Sprinkle with cheese and cornflake crumbs and bake an additional 1/2 hour.
