Hot Water Pastry - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Pour
    boiling
    water
    over shortening and salt and beat until smooth and creamy.
    Stir in sifted flour until a smooth ball
    is formed.
    Cover
    with waxed paper or plastic wrap and chill
    until firm.
    Makes
    enough
    for a 2-crust pie or 2 pie shells.
    This pastry is easy to handle.
    It can be frozen and it will keep for a week in the refrigerator.
