Indian Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. milk
    1 c. yellow cornmeal
    1/2 c. black molasses
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. ground ginger
    1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/4 c. melted butter
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    2 eggs, well beaten
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 250\u00b0.
    Simmer milk; remove from heat.
    Combine cornmeal, molasses, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, salt, baking soda, eggs and half the milk in a bowl.
    Whisk thoroughly. Stir in remaining milk.
    Pour into a well-greased 2 to 3-quart baking dish.
    Bake 5 to 7 hours, occasionally until firm.
