Frank'S Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 lb.) chicken, cut up
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 or 2 bay leaves
    water
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    4 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Place chicken in a big pot and cover with water.
    Heat to simmering stage and add bay leaves, salt and pepper. Simmer until chicken is tender. Add cornstarch thickener and enough water to cover chicken well. Bring to simmering stage again.
