Welsh Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. seedless raisins
    1 c. shortening
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. sugar
    2 well-beaten eggs
    1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Sift flour and salt into bowl.
    Cover 2 cups seedless raisins with boiling water.
    Let stand 5 minutes, then drain.
    To flour and salt add shortening.
    Blend thoroughly.
    Add soda and sugar and mix thoroughly.
    Make a well in center and add beaten eggs and buttermilk.
    Add drained raisins.
    Stir and mix thoroughly, then place on floured board.
    Roll to 1/4 inch thickness and bake on a moderately hot griddle.
    When lower side is nicely browned, turn with pancake turner.
