Fruit Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can cherry pie filling
    1 can pineapple tidbits, drained (Reserve juice)
    1 can mandarin oranges
    3 or 4 bananas
    3/4 cup sugar
Preparation
    Cook 3/4 cup sugar with the reserved pineapple juice.
    Cook until thick.
    Cool.
    Mix cherries, pineapple, oranges and syrup. After syrup is cold, add the bananas cut into small pieces. Chill and serve in large salad bowl.
    Garnish with fresh mint. Serves 6.
