Cherry Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
5 eggs, separated
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
4 oz. maraschino cherries, chopped
1 (4 oz.) can black walnuts, chopped
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening; add egg yolks.
Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk.
Fold in beaten egg whites.
Bake in three greased and floured cake pans at 350\u00b0 until done.
