Anadama Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. corn meal
2 pkg. active dry yeast
2 tsp. salt
2 c. warm water (125~)
5 Tbsp. soft butter
1/2 c. molasses
Preparation

Stir 2 cups flour, corn meal, yeast and salt together in a mixing bowl.
Add water, butter and molasses.
Beat hard for 3 minutes.
Mix in enough remaining flour to make a stiff dough. Turn out onto a floured board.
Knead until no longer sticky. Place in a greased bowl.
Butter top of dough lightly.
Cover with a clean towel.
Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (1 to 1 1/2 hours).
Punch dough down.
Turn onto a floured board; knead 1 to 2 minutes.
Shape into 2 balls.
Place in greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.
Let rise until doubled, 35 to 40 minutes.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes until they sound hollow.
Makes 2 loaves.
