Apple Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or oleo
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    2 Tbsp. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. apples, peeled and diced
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; add eggs.
    Beat well. Stir in flour and salt.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add to batter, mixing well.
    Stir in vanilla and apples.
    Spoon into well-greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Sprinkle on topping (recipe follows).
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until done.
