Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    5 egg yolks (save whites)
    2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 small can coconut
Preparation
    Cream shortening, margarine and sugar.
    Add remaining ingredients except egg whites; beat thoroughly.
    Fold in stiffly beaten whites.
    Bake in 3 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
