Ingredients

3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. quick cooking oats
1 c. crisp rice cereal
1 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
In a large mixer bowl combine all ingredients, except oats, rice cereal, coconut and nuts.
Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often until well mixed (2 to 3 minutes). By hand, stir in all remaining ingredients.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2-inches apart onto cookie sheets.
Bake for 13 to 16 minutes or until browned.
Yields 4 dozen cookies.
