Cheesy Tomato Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. oregano
1 can condensed beef broth
1 1/3 c. milk
1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar
16 oz. stewed tomatoes
Preparation

Saute onion in butter until tender.
Stir in flour and seasonings until smooth.
Remove from heat and gradually stir in broth and milk.
Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
Boil and stir 1 minute; remove from heat.
Stir in half of the cheese at a time.
Stir until completely melted before adding remaining cheese.
Place tomatoes and liquid in blender; cover and puree until smooth.
Stir tomato mixture into soup.
Heat to serving temperature.
Do not boil.
