Old Hickory'S Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. finely chopped onions
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. baking powder
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Put unsifted cornmeal into a bowl.
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder into this.
    Add finely chopped onions. Beat eggs and add the eggs and milk to dry ingredients.
    Drop from tablespoon or shape with hands.
    Fry hush puppies in deep fat (375\u00b0) until brown.
    Be sure they are done on the inside before removing from fat.
    These are very tasty served with fried fish, coleslaw and hot coffee.
