Sausage Cheese Grits Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. grits
    1 1/2 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
    1/2 stick butter
    4 eggs, lightly beaten
    1/2 c. milk
    1 lb. sausage, browned and drained
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease a 3-quart baking dish.
    Bring water and salt to a boil.
    Slowly stir in grits and cook until done.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in 1 cup cheese and butter until melted.
    Add eggs, milk and sausage.
    Blend well.
    Pour mixture into prepared dish.
    Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.
    Bake for 1 hour, until set.
    Cool 10 minutes before serving.
