Ingredients

1 lb. sweet butter
2 c. powdered sugar
2 egg yolks
1 jigger cognac or whiskey
1 c. ground almonds
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
dash of ground cloves
4 to 5 c. sifted cake flour
Preparation

Beat butter and sugar until creamy (about 15 minutes).
Add egg yolks, flavorings, almonds, soda, powder and cloves.
Mix until well blended.
Remove from beater and gradually add sifted flour to make a soft dough.
