Cheese Puffs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 loaf firm, unsliced white bread
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1/4 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
    1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or margarine
    2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Trim crusts from bread; cut bread into 1-inch cubes.
    Melt cheeses, butter or margarine in top of double boiler until of rarebit consistency.
    Remove from heat; fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Dip bread cubes into cheese mixture until well coated; place on cookie sheet.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Bake in hot oven (400\u00b0) for 12 to 15 minutes or until puffy and golden brown. Makes about 4 dozen.
