Chocolate Chip Melt Aways - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 c. vegetable oil
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. sifted powdered sugar
    2 eggs
    4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped walnuts or hickory nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Combine first 5 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; beat until smooth.
    Combine flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt.
    Add butter mixture.
    Beat until smooth; stir in vanilla and chocolate chips.
    Shape mixture into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar.
    Place 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned (do not overbake).
    Makes 9 dozen.
