Ingredients

2 c. shortening (1/2 of this butter)
2 c. granulated sugar
2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. oatmeal
2 c. Rice Krispies
2 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. coconut
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cookies may have to be mixed with your hands; very stiff dough.
Roll into small balls; mash down with fork on ungreased cookie sheet.
