Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can sweetened condensed milk
    6 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    4 c. whole milk
    4 c. cream (half and half)
    4 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    additional whole milk
Preparation
    In a heavy saucepan, combine condensed milk, eggs, sugar and 4 cups whole milk; beat well before putting on the heat.
    Over medium heat, cook like custard; remove from heat and cool.
    Add cream and flavorings.
    Pour mixture into ice cream maker; pour in additional whole milk to the fill line.
    Freeze in usual manner.
