Cherry Sauce For Baked Ham - cooking recipe

1 (16 oz.) can cherries
4 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. white vinegar
2 Tbsp. water
1/8 tsp. allspice
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. Rose wine
Preparation

Drain cherries, reserving syrup.
Combine cherry syrup in saucepan with cornstarch, sugar, vinegar, water and spices.
Cook stirring constantly until thick and clear.
Add wine and cherries. Use part of sauce to glaze ham during baking.
Serve remaining sauce warm or chilled with ham.
