Barley Meal - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can beef
    1 small onion
    2 tsp. salt
    3 medium carrots
    2 c. frozen peas
    1 pkg. broccoli
    1 can mushroom pieces
    2 cans mushroom soup
    1 c. barley
    1 c. rice
    water
Preparation
    In 5-quart saucepan, heat canned beef, chopped onion, salt and sliced carrots.
    Add 2 quarts water, barley and rice.
    Cook until barley is soft and water is absorbed.
    Sometimes more water is needed.
    Add peas, broccoli, mushrooms and mushroom soup; simmer for 1 hour.
    Serves 12 people.
