Manhattan Clam Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

about 3 potatoes
about 3 c. water
1 large can crushed tomatoes (28 oz.; Price Club)
1 can stewed tomatoes, crushed with potato masher, leaving larger pieces
1 large onion, chopped coarsely
1/2 c. chopped green pepper (fairly fine)
1/2 c. diced celery (fairly fine)
1/2 c. chopped carrots (fairly fine)
garlic powder
1 large can chopped clams (51 oz.; Price Club)
4 to 6 slices cooked bacon, diced
thyme, basil and marjoram
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Peel and cube potatoes.
Boil potatoes in water until tender. Pour off any excess water.
Add tomatoes.
Add onion, pepper, celery and carrots.
Cook until veggies are tender.
Add garlic powder, clams and bacon.
Add thyme, basil, marjoram, salt and pepper.
Simmer until flavorful.
