Banana Cake - cooking recipe

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. sour milk
1 c. mashed bananas
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar together. Stir in well beaten eggs. Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together. Add alternately to creamed mixture with milk and bananas. Add vanilla. Mix well. Pour into lightly greased rectangular pan (9 x 12) and bake at 350\u00b0 for about 40 minutes. Cool and frost. Can make 2 round cakes for layer cake.
