Decorating Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 box powdered sugar (10x)
1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
4 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. flavoring (lemon, vanilla, almond, etc.)

Preparation

Measure shortening in mixing bowl; add sugar and water.
Mix with spatula until well blended, then start mixing on low speed for 1 or 2 minutes.
Mix on high speed until smooth and creamy. Add a few drops of water at a time until good spreading consistency.
Stiff icing does better for decorating.
