Caramels - cooking recipe

    2 c. sugar
    2 c. Karo (light)
    1/2 c. butter
    2 c. whipping cream
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook to firm ball (242\u00b0).
    Add whipping cream slowly and keep boiling.
    Add vanilla and cook to firm ball (252\u00b0 to 254\u00b0).
    No more.
