New England Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans clams (7 1/2 oz.)
    4 oz. salt pork, minced
    4 c. potatoes, diced
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1 3/4 c. milk
    1 c. cream
    1/4 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. flour
Preparation
    In saucepan, cook salt pork until crisp.
    Remove any lean pieces of pork; save.
    Add the potatoes, 1 1/2 cups of water, onion and clam liquor to drippings.
    Cook, covered, until potatoes are tender, 15 to 20 minutes.
    Add clams, 1 3/4 cups milk and the cream.
    Blend together 1/4 cup milk and flour; stir into chowder. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
    Add salt, pepper and salt pork.
    Serves 6.
