Sweet Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients

7 lb. medium (not large) cucumbers
1 c. Kerr extra crisp pickling lime
5 lb. sugar
1 qt. cider vinegar
1/2 pkg. cinnamon sticks (in with spices)
1 tsp. mace (in with spices)
1 tsp. turmeric (also with spices)
1 tsp. whole cloves (in with spices)

Preparation

First Day:
Wash and slice 1/8 to 1/4-inch thick slices of cucumbers.
Soak in lime water 24 hours with enough water to cover.
Do not use metal pan.
