Ingredients

1 loaf French bread (18 inches long)
1 lb. ground beef
1/3 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
1/4 c. onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. oregano
garlic and mushrooms (optional)
1 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
3 tomatoes, peeled and sliced
6 slices Mozzarella cheese
Preparation

Slice bread in half the long way.
Brown ground beef, onion, salt and pepper.
Stir in Parmesan cheese, oregano and tomato paste.
Spread half of coated meat on half of bread loaf.
Layer tomato slices and cheese slices alternately on top of meat.
Broil 1 to 2 minutes, until cheese melts.
Do the same with the remaining mixture and other half of bread loaf.
