Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. round steak
    1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 medium onion, finely diced (about 3/4 c.)
    1 c. (1 lb.) stewed tomatoes
    1 medium green pepper, finely diced (about 3/4 c.)
Preparation
    Cut any fat away from the meat.
    Mix together flour, salt and pepper; pound into both sides of meat.
    Melt a small amount of Crisco in a skillet.
    Brown steak thoroughly on all sides.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Cover tightly and simmer until meat is tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
