Everlasting Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 shredded head cabbage
    1 tsp. salt
    1 grated carrot
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Mix lettuce and salt together and let stand for 1 hour.
    Drain well and add carrot and green pepper.
    Combine vinegar, water and sugar.
    Boil 4 minutes, then add to cabbage while hot.
    Cool and refrigerate until served.
