Red Velvet Pound Cake - cooking recipe

3 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. Crisco
7 eggs, beaten one at a time
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (1 oz.) bottle red food coloring
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream sugar, Crisco and buttermilk, then beaten eggs.
Add flour, salt and baking powder; beat for 3 minutes.
Add food coloring and vanilla flavoring.
Blend well.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
