Fruit Cocktail Cake - cooking recipe

2 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (16 oz.) can fruit cocktail (including juice)
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 c. flaked coconut
1 stick margarine, melted
3/4 c. evaporated milk
Preparation

Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar with eggs. Add salt, flour and baking soda. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and fruit cocktail. Beat until fruit cocktail is in small pieces. Put batter in 9 x 13-inch pan. Mix together brown sugar, nuts and coconut. Sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
