Potatoes Savoyarde - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. boiling potatoes (about 5)
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 lb. Swiss cheese (about 1 c. grated)
    3/4 c. chicken stock
Preparation
    Heat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Butter a 1 1/2-quart gratin or baking dish.
    Peel potatoes and cut into 1/8-inch thin slices.
    Spread half of them in prepared dish.
    Sprinkle with half the salt and pepper.
    Cut butter into small pieces and dot top of potatoes with half the butter.
    Add the rest of the potatoes, salt, pepper and butter.
    Top with the cheese.
    Pour in stock.
    Bake until golden and bubbly, about 40 minutes.
    Let potatoes stand 10 minutes. Yield: 6 servings.
