White Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 egg
Preparation
    Sift flour.
    Combine with sugar and shortening.
    Mix until crumbly; reserve 1/2 cup.
    To remaining flour mixture, add spices, baking powder, soda, egg and buttermilk.
    Blend.
    Pour into a greased pan.
    Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 30 to 35 minutes.
