Sauerkraut Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. sauerkraut (canned or bulk)
    1 large onion, finely chopped
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 tart apple, finely chopped
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1 or 2 c. cubed ham or frankfurters
    6 or 8 small potatoes, parboiled
Preparation
    Drain sauerkraut and press out all liquid.
    Saute onion in margarine until transparent.
    Add sauerkraut and rest of ingredients to onion.
    Simmer on low heat at least 30 minutes. Serve immediately or transfer to casserole and refrigerate.
    When ready to serve, heat at 300\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes or in microwave 6 to 7 minutes.
