Ruth Kerr'S Party Pie Shell - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sugar
    4 egg yolks
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 lemon rind
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    1/2 c. crushed pineapple, drained
Preparation
    Beat egg whites, cream of tartar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until very stiff.
    Add vanilla and 1 cup of sugar slowly.
    Bake at 275\u00b0 in a greased 9-inch pie plate for 1 hour.
    Mix egg yolks, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/8 teaspoon salt, lemon rind, lemon juice and pineapple together.
    Boil until thick.
    Cool and pour in baked shell.
