Onion Herb Baked Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 envelope golden onion soup mix
    1 tsp. basil leaves
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 loaf Italian or French bread
    1 medium clove garlic, finely chopped
    1 tsp. oregano
    1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    The French or Italian bread should be about 16 inches long, halved lengthwise.
    In a small bowl, blend all ingredients, except bread.
    Generously spread on bread halves. Arrange bread on baking sheet, cut side up.
    Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
    Serve warm.
