Hand Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. shortening (1/2 butter, 1/2 margarine), softened
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Mix sugar, eggs, shortening and vanilla.
    Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
    Roll dough 3/16-inch thick on lightly floured, cloth covered board.
    Place hand lightly on dough.
    Trace around hand with pastry wheel.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until no indentation remains when touches, 6 to 8 minutes. Decorate as desired.
