Oyster Dressing - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1-1/2 lb. ground beef
1-1/2 lb. ground pork
4 doz. oysters, ground or finely chopped
1/2 loaf French bread
1 small can mushrooms, finely chopped
1 large onion, chopped
3 stalks celery, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
1/4 cup parsley, chopped
Preparation

Brown meat and drain off excess fat Add seasonings and cook until tender.
Simmer for 1 hour on low heat.
Grind oysters and mushrooms; add to meat mixture.
Moisten bread with water; squeeze out excess water.
Break up and stir into dressing.
Mix well and continue to cook about 30 minutes more on very low heat.
Season to taste with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
(Salt in oysters will make a difference.)
Serve hot or can be served cold on a sandwich.
