Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 c. butter
1 c. Crisco shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Cream sugars, eggs, butter, Crisco and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Roll dough into walnut sized balls. Roll in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with small glass bottom dipped in sugar. Bake at 350\u00b0 until golden brown, about 12 minutes. I refrigerate my dough after I mix it, for about 1/2 hour.
