Penuche Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. and 2 Tbsp. margarine
    1/4 tsp. and 2 Tbsp. milk
    3/4 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except vanilla.
    Bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly for 1 minute.
    Remove from heat and beat until lukewarm.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat until thick enough to spread. If it becomes too thick, add about 1 teaspoon of cream.
    Icing for 2 layer cake.
