Orange Flavored Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. Karo light corn syrup
10 marshmallows
1/2 tsp. orange extract
3 c. walnuts or pecan halves
10 drops food coloring (optional)

Preparation

In heavy 2-quart saucepan, mix sugar, water and corn syrup. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Cook to 238\u00b0 or until small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water forms a soft ball which flattens on removal from water; remove from heat.
Mix in food coloring, marshmallows and orange flavoring, stirring until marshmallows are melted.
Add nuts and stir until well coated.
Turn onto waxed paper.
Separate nuts while still warm.
Makes 1 1/4 pounds.
