Peanut Butter Cookies From Amish Cookbook - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. chunky peanut butter (creamy if desired)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening, peanut butter and sugars.
    Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.
    Add sifted dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
    Chill dough well.
    Form balls on cookie sheet (ungreased) and flatten crossways with a fork dipped in white sugar.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 13 minutes.
