Vidalia Onion Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. light vinegar
    1/2 c. water
    3/4 c. sugar
    dash of cayenne pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. chopped parsley
    1/8 tsp. basil
    3 large Vidalia onions, sliced
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients (except onions), shaking well to dissolve sugar.
    Pour over sliced onions.
