Oatmeal Cake-Amish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. quick oats
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Soak oats in 1 1/2 cups boiling water.
    Let stand 2 minutes. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
    Cream butter with vanilla.
    Add both brown and white sugar.
    Beat a lot! Add 2 eggs, one at a time.
    Beat 2 minutes.
    Add soaked oats and dry ingredients.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
